qX Alliance Member Onboarding

Join through a controlled, role-specific pathway

The qX Alliance onboarding pathway is designed to help prospective participants explore fit, define a lawful collaboration boundary, and protect every party’s intellectual property before any sensitive information, technical contribution, testbed access, or commitment is exchanged.

Choose the conversation that fits your role

Founding alignment

For invited institutions or individuals prepared to discuss mission, governance, charter evolution, and stewardship.

Strategic Node exploration

For qualified organizations considering a sovereign, institutional, or sector-specific validation environment.

Technical contribution

For researchers, engineers, startups, and teams proposing independently owned work under a defined IP and export boundary.

Observer participation

For policy, academic, regulatory, ethics, and domain specialists offering non-voting insight within an approved information scope.

Audit or evaluation collaboration

For qualified organizations exploring future evidence, repeatability, or assessment work under a written mandate.

Start with fit—not files

Use the existing Join path to describe your organization, area of interest, and desired conversation at a high level. Do not submit source code, unpublished patent material, controlled technical data, classified information, export-restricted information, sensitive personal data, customer data, mission records, third-party confidential information, or proprietary implementation details through the website.

Safety line: If a deeper review is appropriate, the Alliance will identify an authorized channel and the required information, legal, security, and export boundary before materials are exchanged.

A deliberate path from interest to authorization

  1. Initial expression of interest

Share a high-level description through the existing Join path. This creates no membership, obligation, approval, or confidentiality relationship.

  1. Alignment conversation

Discuss mission fit, prospective role, intended outcomes, and whether a next step is appropriate.

  1. Eligibility and boundary review

Complete the current identity, organization, conflict, export, sanctions, security, data-rights, and jurisdictional checks required for the proposed activity.

  1. Scope and ownership map

Identify background IP, independently developed IP, protected qX/qshieldX/BEYONDx/Shears–Mukherjee subject matter, third-party rights, permitted use, publication constraints, and excluded information.

  1. Instrument review

Review only the documents required for the role and scope, which may include an MoC, CIPA, NDA, data-use terms, testbed terms, export certifications, or a project-specific agreement. The executed text controls.

  1. Written authorization

Receive written confirmation of the approved role, access level, scope, channel, deliverables, contacts, and review process.

  1. Controlled start

Begin work, access, validation, or contribution only within the authorized boundary. Changes require written approval.

Protect the work before connecting the work

Your background IP remains yours

Reviewing Alliance materials or joining a conversation does not transfer ownership of pre-existing or independently developed work.

Protected Alliance IP remains protected

No qX, qshieldX, quaiX, TAPS, PQRI, qX-TGRI, BEYONDx, or Shears–Mukherjee right is licensed or transferred by participation, access, discussion, or receipt of materials.

No implied co-inventorship or co-ownership

Collaboration, feedback, whiteboarding, testing, or presence in a meeting does not create inventorship, authorship, ownership, assignment, or license rights.

Contributions require written scope

Do not submit or integrate code, models, methods, data, specifications, or improvements until the relevant rights holders approve the scope and terms in writing.

Publication rights are not assumed away

Academic or other publication rights are not automatically surrendered by exploring participation. Any review, confidentiality, export, attribution, or publication restriction depends on the executed scope and the information involved.

Compensation is never implied

Stipends, royalties, grants, fees, governance weight, recognition, or other consideration exist only if expressly documented in an authorized written instrument or award.

Onboarding FAQs

Does expressing interest make all of my trust-related research subject to qX?

No. Visiting the pages, attending a discussion, or expressing interest creates no general exclusivity, field-of-use obligation, assignment, or license. Any future obligation must be stated in an authorized written agreement.

Can I choose what technology or research to propose?

Yes. A proposal is voluntary and should begin at a high level. Acceptance, evaluation, integration, testing, or use occurs only after scope, rights, compliance, and technical review.

Does the Alliance partner on research proposals?

Potential collaboration is evaluated case by case. This page does not commit the Alliance, BEYONDx, any inventor, or any participant to pursue, sponsor, fund, endorse, or join a proposal.

What infrastructure is required for a testbed?

There is no universal requirement in the supplied materials. Requirements depend on the mission, system, information classification, data rights, security boundary, evidence plan, export posture, and validation objective. A written testbed profile must be approved before access or integration.

Will contributors be paid or receive royalties?

Not by default. Compensation, royalties, grants, fees, or recognition are conditional and exist only when expressly documented in a signed agreement, award, or approved project scope.

Can universities publish?

Participation does not automatically eliminate academic publication rights. Publication timing, review, confidential information, export controls, third-party rights, attribution, and patent protection must be addressed in the relevant written scope before work begins.

Is the Charter legally binding?

No. The Charter overview expresses working intent. It does not create enforceable obligations. The executed text of any later agreement controls its own legal effect.

Does onboarding grant access to code, testbeds, certification, or governance?

No. Access and participation are role-specific, conditional, and granted only in writing after the required reviews and instruments are complete.

Can international organizations participate?

International participation may be considered case by case and is subject to current legal, export, sanctions, security, institutional, and sovereign requirements. No country, nationality, or organization is presumed eligible from this page.

Can I upload code or technical files through the Join path?

No. Submit only high-level interest information. Sensitive or proprietary materials require an authorized channel and a confirmed legal and security boundary.

Exploration is not endorsement or approval

Onboarding discussions do not imply that any person, university, company, government, standards body, regulator, testbed, corridor, or funding program endorses, participates in, funds, certifies, or approves the Alliance or its technologies. Technical concepts and evaluation frameworks remain subject to validation, authorized scope, and applicable law.

No implied license

No express or implied license, assignment, co-ownership, co-inventorship, reverse-engineering right, derivative implementation right, training right, publication right, standardization right, access right, certification right, or commercialization right is granted by this page, the Join path, a meeting, or receipt of materials. All rights remain with their respective owners unless an authorized written instrument states otherwise.

Compliance notice: Do not submit classified information or export-controlled, proprietary, restricted, or third-party confidential technical data through the website. Participation is subject to current legal and compliance review. This page is informational and is not legal advice.

Start with a high-level alignment request

If the mission and boundaries described here fit your work, use the existing Join path to request a conversation. Share only enough information to identify your organization, your area of interest, and the role you want to explore.
